ISMAT CHUGHTAI’S Lihaaf: A Story of Child Psyche HARE KRISHNA KUIRY Central University of Jharkhand ABSTRACT Lihaaf is an Urdu word. It means “Quilt”. The story “Lihaaf” is written by Ismat Chughtai, published in 1942. When “Bharatbarsa” is ruled by British Governor and “Bharatbasi” are ruled by stereotypical notions, superstition and false ego of the society. As like freedom fighters some writers picked up their pen to reveal the truth of the society. Ismat Chughtai is one of them who is charged for using the obscene word in literature. The story “Lihaaf” is analyzed in various perspectives like homosexuality, Lesbianism, Upper-class morality, False Social Status, and Marriage. Now August, 2017. But from now Agamani is heard up on green field and blue sky. Agamani is one kind of songs about the coming of Uma specially when she comes to her father’s house from Kailas . GARAM HAVA

  Garam Hava , an Indo-Pak partition movie released in 1973.The movie is directed by Mysore  Shrinivas Sathyu . The story is bassed on a short story of Ismat Chugtai. Dilogue and lyrics were arranged by Kalif Azmi. The leads roles are cast by Balaraj   Sahni( Salim Mirza);Gita Shauhat Kaifi(Amina Mirza); Jalal Agha (Shamshad); Dinanath Zutski (Halim); Badar Begum(Salim’s mother); Abu Siwani(Baquar Mirza); Farooq Sheihk ( Shikandar Mirza) and Jamal Hashmi( Kazim). Garam Hava is a hindi title, means hot winds. The title itself depicts the serious situation at the moment of partition and after effects of partition. The film deals with muslims who do not want to move from their mother land after the partition. “Darkness cannot drive out darkness;   Only light can do that...” As we are not blind, we can see our surroundings through our two eyes. But without opening third eye, can we see properly? Yes third –eye, the eye of knowledge that is opened by Guru. Guru is Sanskrit word, “Gu” means darkness and “Ru:” means dispeller. Guru who may be a teacher, tutor, sage, counsellor, mentor, or spiritual leader remove darkness and enlighten us with the light of wisdom. The day 5 th September is celebrated as a teachers' day since 1962. That day is also a birthday of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan , the second president of India. Students celebrate that day through functional activities. “Guru Bramha Guru Vishnu Gurudevo Maheshwaro, Gurushakshat Param-Brahma Tashmoi shri Gurudevoi namahh:” Cloud is a great giver.
